Return to ToolkitWhen you shop online, you often receive a small card saying thank you for your purchase, telling you a little more about the website and encouraging you to shop again.
Why don't more high street retailers do the same?
A cost involved here, but you could easily find a local printer to produce these for you at a reasonable cost for a small item.
We would always suggest handing this to the customer as you say "Thank you" for their purchase and give them eye contact.
This builds more connection than just dropping it into their bag.
There are many things to consider when designing the giveway, but remember you want to build a connection with the customer so they become a loyal regular customer telling others about you. Online retailers get an email address to stay in touch. Do you do this store?

If you are offering a discount, make sure this brings them back to your shop on another day, maybe even a quiet day ... not just an hour later to get the cheaper price.
