What if a gift could spark a story you've never heard?

What if a gift could spark a story you've never heard?

Let’s be honest.

Most Gifts?

They gather dust and are forgotten by next month.

They don’t get passed down, they are not remembered, they don’t spark anything real.

Our gifts are different, something happened last week that reminded us of just how different they are.

The sun showed up,
The coffee flowed,
and so did the stories.

We asked families to write down a cherished memory of their dad.

We expected a few scribbles, but the responses we received were beautiful.

One wrote:

My dad took me to my first every Liverpool FC game after I won two tickets at school. We had VIP seats and sat with ex-players. Dad took loads of pictures on his disposable camera…but forgot to wind it up. Classic Dad.

Another:

Going to Switzerland with my dad and seeing where he spent most of his 20’s. We travelled by train, ate cheese fondue and drank loads of wine. It was magic!

And this one stopped us in our tracks:

Watching you push your grandson’s pram around the quay. You were so proud. Just before you went up to heaven.

It’s these kind of moments and memories that stay with us forever.

This reminded us of exactly why we do what we do.

People were not just buying our journals as a gift.

They were buying time.

They were buying connection.

They were buying a way to say, ‘I want to get to know you better, I want to hear your stories, I don’t want to forget’.

Not all dads are talkers.

But a memory journal?

It gently invites those who matter most to handwrite stories and memories that we rarely say outloud.

One dad said: “This isn’t just a gift, it’s a way for me to pass down things I never really speak about in the busyness of the day to day.

It’s the jokes you had to be there for. It’s going to your first football match together. The proud stroll around the Quay.

So let us leave you with this...

If you could connect with somebody today, who would it be?

What story have you not heard?

What memory have you not shared?
