"I sat with my mother and went through each question. It was truly moving experience as I captured her answers for her whilst she recounted some wonderful tales of her life with, and without, me. I would now like to give a similar book to my children to explore my relationship with them. Thank you so much for the opportunity this book provided."
February 2007 Mrs Blundell
"My mother is now 88 and lives on her own and I wanted to give her a project, something to stimulate her. I gave her the book and it has brought her and I so much happiness, smiles and tears along the way. My brother and sister are now jealous and want Mum to complete a book for them so I am buying more copies for them. We already talked a lot as a family, but we didn't talk about some of this stuff and I now have something that I will keep forever and I am sure my children will want to pass to their children."

"What a fantastic idea and done in a way that encourages some powerful memories and feedback about life for the future . . . well done!"
March 2007 Mrs Hughes
"I think this is a thoughtful and inspirational idea - sadly my nana passed away last year - although we spoke of many thing, and I have lasting memories, the addition of this book would have been very precious.
April 2007 Thalia Stephens
"Thanks for the very prompt delivery and I have to say that my mother was completely overwhelmed with this gift, she had tears of joy in her eyes. I can't wait to get her responses returned to me . . . "
March 2007 Claire
"Thanks so much for the idea of this gift - my mother absolutely loved it."

"I have recently been bought a copy of
Dear Mum, from you to me
and it is fabulous."
July 2007 Kai Williams
"The questions are just perfect - some really deep stuff but not pompous or fluffy - they inspire, but they also stimulate some great humour."

Just wanted to say I think the books are great.
I bought one today from one of your shops who ran out of Mother and the cashier said they had 4 requests for 'Mother' books that morning.
I bought the grandmother book, and my comments to you are:
1.
Would it be possible to do a Grannie/Nanny book as no-one I know calls
them grandmother
2.
I would definately buy a sister and a brother book - shame they are not
available before Christmas!
3.
Have you considered a 'Friend' book?
4.
One question I might add is
"If a film was made of your life, who would
play you?"
and finally,
please get them into more shops, they are great!!
I wish you lots of success!"

I first saw your journals when a friend of mine brought one back from a visit to Padstow.
My friends father had recently been diagnosed with cancer and she felt that your journal was the perfect way for him to tell his stories to her 5 children before he became really ill.
I thought it was such a fantastic idea that I have just purchased 2 for my parents so that they too can tell my children about themselves.
Contrary to recent reports in the media, in this modern age (as my dad would call it!) we actually see much less of our families. I live in Warminster and they live in Nailsea. It is not like being on the other side of the world I know, but we all lead such busy lives.
Anyway Neil, I just wanted to say that I think your product is fantastic and to wish you great success with all your "You to Me" products.

What a great idea. I have just purchased Dear Mum and 2 copies of Dear Grandad from my local bookshop in Dublin. I have also ordered Dear Grandma from you as the shop had run out! I plan to fill in Dear Grandma for my Granny who is nearly 90 and whose memory is not what it was. My present to her will be the hours we will spend filling it in together. This is something that I am really looking forward to and I hope that it will be something that I will treasure forever. I hope that my dad and my father in law enjoy the process of completing their books as much as my children will enjoy reading them in years to come.
I have just watched the Mummy Diaries on Channel 4. They recommended that everyone keep such a book for their children as you never know how long you have got on this earth. With that in mind (I am not ill, thank goodness) I plan to fill out the Dear Mum book for my small children.
Thankyou for this wonderful resource. Such a simple idea, so beautifully presented and thought out.

"I bought one of your 'Dad' books as a Father's Day present for my Dad this year. On Xmas morning I was absolutely thrilled to receive my book, fully completed, back. I read it in one sitting ... I laughed, cried and learned so mmuch I didn't know. What an absolutely fantastic gift.
I'm going to buy one for my mum and my brother, and myself, as a sister. I can't wait to see what other ones you bring out . . ."

I bought one
I think your books are fabulous, having only seen one for the first time a couple of days ago I'm already addicted to them. I have just purchased 2 Dear Mum books!! I plan to give one to my friends children (1yr & 3yrs old) so that she can start filling it out now for them! The perfect gift that I know they'll all love over time.
I'm also planning to emigrate and I know my mum is very emotional about this so I plan to give the other one to her for her birthday so that I can take it with me next year!
I'd really like to see a 'Dear Aunt' book - I'm very close to my aunt and I'd love for her to complete one for me.... I know she'd love it as she has already bought her Mum one. Also, the previous suggestion of a 'Dear Friend' is wonderful... I know what I'd buy all of my friends for their birthdays!
Keep up the good work, I love it!!"

"Thank you very much for sending me the 2 copies recently ordered. I would like to say
how delighted I was to receive one of your books (Mum) from my daughter at Xmas. I managed to return the completed book on my birthday (14 January). I found it a most therapeutic exercise, evoking memories that I thought long forgotten. It seemed particularly pertinent to pass on these memories to my daughter, as I had two life-reaching operations over 2007. Now I am recovered and have restarted my private counselling service and have bought 2 copies of your books to show to clients. I have given one of the copies (Gran) to a friend whose grand-daughter is emigrating to Australia later on this year. She feels this can be a family keepsake to take to Australia, especially as she is now 80 years of age.
I did a lot of writing in my journal, as well as using photos, photocopies, drawings, stickies to illustrate the words. My daughter is delighted and says that she has quite a few follow up questions to ask me re the journal. Perhaps there could be a few pages added for this response. Although my daughter and I talk a lot, there was a lot the book evoked that I obviously had not told her or that she had forgotten. Thank you so much for the idea and all the best with it's distribution. I notice there is no shop is Ely that sells the books, so have given one book shop your website.
